Comment Going it Alone - Kinda - 06/20/09

Well, a few days ago CON took a step up in the universe and formed its own Alliance. Tired of fighting for other people, and suffering other peoples choices we decided it was time to be more then just a corp.

Coalition Of  Nations. was formed along with a holding council corp. We are open to new Alliance members of all sizes, and will work hard to provide support to all our members both of the corp and the alliance going forward.

So whats CON going to do now? Going back out to 0.0 space isn’t an option for us at the current time. As a corp its no problem but as an alliance we simply lack the size, but what we can do is what CON is really good at. We can go out in to Wspace, or as we like to call it WHoles.

Using our expirance in logistics and POS managment we plan to take over at least a couple of WHoles and start farming them to produce T3 equipment. It’s a brave new frontire and CON will be there, as ever. Fighting hard to make things better for all our members.

The directors will lead the way, diving in to the unknown to find riches and untold wonders for all along with the existing members of the CON corp.

Lastly I would like to thank all of our members that helped us to get to this point. We couldn’t have done it with our you, and I am proud of what CON has become. Lets see what the future holds for us.

Haydies.

1 Comment Formal apology to the visiting fleet from last night - 04/20/09

On behalf of CON, and indirectly Defi4nt, I would like to extend my sincerest apologies to the fleet that attempted to visit Deklien last night. I am positive your intentions were peaceful and born out of mutual respect. I feel confident in my assessment that your fleet was merely passing through and presented no risk to us.

I was shocked how a simple miscommunication could lead to such a disastrous outcome. I would like to assure you that the leadership and the fleet commander of the Defi4nt fleet were not expecting our members to engage in hostile actions when your names were called in vent. We were merely trying to identify those individuals that we wished to communicate with so that we could understand why you had traveled to Deklien.

I was truly disheartened to see the situation escalate so quickly into what could only be seen as an absolute blood bath. I was quick to scold several individuals that cried out “OMG it’s a turkey shoot!” but my words fell on deaf ears. I even went so far as to recklessly put myself in between several skirmishers in an attempt to stem the flow of missiles bullets and beams. As I’m sure you are aware that attempt failed as I was quickly shot clean out of the sky.

I did manage to return quickly in another ship, my purpose being only to compensate your fleet for the massive losses by trying to return as much equipment as I could. These attempts were also met by failure as it became clear that the few of you that were left had what must have been a very pressing engagement elsewhere, judging by how quickly they departed the area.

I am still at a loss to come up with a way to compensate for the loss of so many of your pods. It is a testament to the crude and bloodthirsty nature of many of our members that they would so willingly attack them. These acts were deplorable and I am personally shamed by them. In my mind, obliterating 30+ ships in your 48 ship fleet was bad enough, but to target so many of your pods crossed the line.

I know it will do little to dissipate the anger you must feel, but those members in CON will be spoken to sternly for their actions and be forced to take a remedial manners seminar so that we can avoid such barbaric actions in the future. Notably Naitsirch, Whitestar1 and IBCTRI will be spoken to using the harshest of words. They were completely uncontrollable during their killing spree, and that should never happen again.

I hope this most public apology will help in building a happy friendly good time special relationship with all of you.

Sincerely
Cazzik

Comment Defi4nt Defends - 04/4/09

Ok, so out in 0.0 I am sure ever one knows its not all peace and happiness, from time to time we get reds passing though, and now and again even nuets come by. So we keep a defense fleet up and going as much as we can.

After catching a neut in a swing bubble the fleet was just sitting around when the intel channel started going off, and Agony fleet was coming up the pipe. 9 guys in a mix of ships. We deployed our scouts through out the systems and kepts tabs on them. Forming up a gate camp ready to take them down.

But they didn’t come, they went down a side system, but we didn’t move. We knew they would be back because they went down a dead end branch. Then our scouts reported them coming back so we got ready for a fight, but again they didn’t come, heading back out the way they came.

The FC commanded us to move, intercepters to harrase them, slow them down. The Defi4nt fleet took a short cut using our knowlage of the local systems we go in front of them just in time to catch their fleet as we came through a gate, as they decloaked in our massively supirer fleet. 3 ships of the enemy just popped in seconds, 1, 2, 3… then the pods.

The rest of the fleet managed to get away, but we gave chace. But its hard to catch someone thats running and after camping there exit route for a bit we decided to let them go, it was getting late and many of our pilots where tired….

None the less a good fight, and a fun fight. Defi4nt lost 1 inti :-)

Oh, and of course most importantly, the fleet was CON lead, our FC did an excelent job :-) wont say who he is, I don’t want to make him primary next time….

Comment W Space, where it civilised :-) - 03/13/09

Well, as you know from my last post I was lost in side W Space. For days I have been trying to tie down a worm hole back out.

Well, I was getting really really fed up with scanning, to the point I went solo against some sleepers, but I lost my bottle and just couldn’t let the BS kill me.

So with that in mind I would like to give a special thanks to Nhorr Spantheck, for shareing the location of an exit back to empire with me. I’d probably still be there but he generously helped me out.

Perhaps W Space is the last place in eve where civilised people abound. Any where else, chances are when I warped to him I’d have met a fleet and been ganked. In W Space you just don’t know who is out there :-)

Thanks Nhorr Spantheck, your a star :-) or maybe a worm hole? :-)

Comment Lost in “W” Space. - 03/13/09

Well, you could call me Mr Robinson, but its probably best not to…. but I am as they say, lost in W Space. W Space? I hear you ask, and if you don’t already know then I guess I can explain a little. Recent advances in scan probe tech has given rise to worm holes, these lead to W Space. These systems don’t have local, and the only way in or out is via the worm holes, though they are not fix. They move or collaps and leave you with no way back.

So, any way, me and our might CEO figured we go check it out, after reading about other peoples expirances we felt it best to go to empire and increase our chances of finding easier targets inside WSpace. Askari came along as well, just to see what was there. What we found where Sleepers, there a  little smarter and harder then your adverage belt rat.

Any way, on our first Anomaly we found a small spawn, just a couple curisers and a few frigs, they didn’t last long at all. Jack and his mega tanked Drake, my active tank Night hawk and Askari in… well, I am not sure what it was, a BC of some kind, just chewed them up. To easy we think. But then a couple of cruisers and a BS spawn, but our tanks held. Its worth mentioning at this point that Sleepers switch targets so unlike most PvE its not just a case of tanking it up and then cleaning up, every one in the fleet could and probably will get targeted.

Like I said, cruisers went down fast but just as we are about to start on the BS another one, with is escort of cruisers spawned. I was taking a bit of a beating by this point having got snared up on some kind of plat form, my shield was down to about 10% and I was starting to panic. I was desperately trying to get off the structure before I was in mine :-) so I actually stopped fireing which may be what saved me. As my damage level dropped off, and just before I lost my shields the Sleepers switch targets. That was all I needed my shields where back up in 30 seconds and I got of the damn structure, platform what ever the hell it was.

After that we just went around and killed what we could find untill it was time to log for the night, before I went though I figured it would be a good idea to scan down the worm hole we forgot to book mark on the way in, and go drop off the loot. No bounties on sleepers, but there is good old T3 loot. Well, old? its a new as worm holes so we collected what we could and salvaged what seemed worth it.

Thing is, I didn’t want to leave the fleet in there with no way to find the exit so I went back in and logged.

So, today, the day after our little even I logged on to find the worm hole had indeed vanished and so I set to scanning for a new one. I had a few issues with it never actually resolving. Signel strength of 100% and still I couldn’t worp to it, then I lost a probe and my whole scanning system went tits up so I had to re log. I did eventually find one, but with no sign of Askari, and the slight issue of the worm hole only leading to another w space system we desided to wait, look for another one.

5 hours of scanning latter and I still don’t have a way out, we are suck here for now.

So if your in W Space keep an eye out for our little fleet, we just want to go home… point us in the right direction and there might even be some kind of reward for it :-)

3 Comments Killer bubble placement - 02/25/09

So, it was one of them days. You know when your not really doing much? I’d just eaten dinner and so I was nicely docked in the station, when I looked up to see Cazzik asking me to place on “uber bubble”. I’d not been really paying much attention what with eating and all, so I asked if he ment my Onyx, I love my Onyx to death (quite a few times) but I’ve also recently gained the skills to use large bubbles.

Any way, I thought rather then sitting there in the middle of a bubble I’d be smart, take my Nighthawk and place the large bubble, it was my first time so any excuse really.

I jumped in the NH, reloaded it with the bubble and a set of missles and off I went, no big rush, I thought it was a trap for the lone neut that logged of earlier. I got to the gate in question and started to achore the bubbble and it occured to me that really, it would probably not be the best idea to sit in my own bubble for a change, so I started to move back the way I’d come a few moments earlier.

It’s at this point that old Caz starts to shout about an inbound red fleet. “Run, get the hell out of there” he says, so as I am aligned to the gate already I hit wap as a red comes in system at the gate with my as yet still down bubble. Thinking my self lucky I go to warp only to slam head long in to the bubble Cazzik had placed… and I quote… to slow down the reds.

Thing is, what he had failed to tell me is that he had anchored it, and part of his cunning plan was to slow them down even more because it would take time to kill me. At this point it was still just one red in a Vaga, no problem I think to my self. He can’t take me but hes got a point so I’m stuck so I just open fire. My missles rip through his shields, and start to bite the armour when his friends start to apear. First 1, then 4, then 15 reds engage me and at this point I know I am good as dead but I’ll take the bastard vaga with me. Then I notice Cazzik has run away like a girl when the rest of the red fleet shows up, my lock is broken and I’m basically pounded to death right there, at the edge of a bubble my own corp places. I start to feel like a bit of a dick really if the truth be told, killed by my own side, even if it wasn’t with our own guns.

Thankfully I got my Pod away, not to hard out side the bubble and when I get to one of our POS (I should have gone there to get safe, and thats why I felt like a tit) there is Cazzik in his shinny Cerb, honestly, hes luckyI don’t have the pos gun skill, or I’d have popped him back :-)

But to make my self feel better I have told every one, infact this post is to tell the world at large, so if your reading this… and you know Cazzik, please, please, I implore you… rip on him a bit for me, just say “Nice bubble placement man” and watch him cry. Though to be fair I do think he felt bad, he didn’t know they where coming or that I would run for the gate…. so I’m ok with the loose, shit happens… suprisingly often to me, and he did offer to at least help cover my looses which of course I declined. It was a perfecty placed bubble, its my own fault as much as his, and I bet next time he’ll be damn sure to tell me when he bubbles a gate behind me :-)

One last word on the matter from me: Cazzik, you bastard :-P

1 Comment Three Blind Mice - 02/13/09

With 3 ongoing wardecs and a series of hauler / newbie kills, three fearless war heroes (well ok 2 and one Cazzik) BlueMajere, Haydies De’arth, and myself ventured into the dreaded highsec for some revenge.

Finding only docked and afk war targets we quickly became bored. It was our thirst for blood that inspired us to try our luck in lowsec.Spending some time trying gate camps, scanning down  ships and some attempts at baiting, our boredom grew to a point where it was clear we would need to change up strategies.
After missing the tackle on a retriever by less than a second, BlueMajere decided to try a little social engineering.  Here are the transcripts of that conversations where Blue is simultaneously conning two people into accepting our “protection” …

Noob1 > whats up?
BlueMajere > heya, my corpies and i noticed you're in a mining ship and wanted to offer our protection services until our war targets show up
BlueMajere > in other words, we are fucking bored and need something to do
Noob1 > protection? is there a lot of you? i just got jumped by a battleship yesterday?
BlueMajere > there's 3 of us, all in tech 2 ships
BlueMajere > you don't need to pay us we are just waiting for our war targets to show up
BlueMajere > we normally operate in 0.0 space but we're up here for the day killing the mercenaries who war-decced us
BlueMajere > and they're supposed to pass through in a while
BlueMajere > does that sound good to you?
Noob1 > you guys killing anyone you can ?
BlueMajere > just our war targets
BlueMajere > if someone warps in on you we will fire on them
BlueMajere > i c u, hehe
BlueMajere > those are my corpmates, do you want us to protect you?
BlueMajere > there are quite a few pirates here
Noob1 > oh god you scared me
BlueMajere > hehe
BlueMajere > come back and we will protect you
BlueMajere > meet you at the belt
Noob1 > you are making me nervous
BlueMajere > don't be, we're 0.0 inhabitants
Noob1 > there is no need for protection. I got it. thank you though
BlueMajere > didn't you say a battleship killed you yesterday?
Noob1 > yeah.. i was alone
BlueMajere > your corpmate and i are thinking of using you as bait to attract and kill a pirate
Noob1 > hehe
Noob1 > Ill be the sexy bait!
BlueMajere > yes ma'am
BlueMajere > do you want to give it a shot?
Noob1 > yep! looking for a belt without rats
BlueMajere > i'd refund your retriever if you died
BlueMajere > 6-3
Noob1 > spanks
Noob1 > you guys are cool as hell
BlueMajere > duhhhhh
BlueMajere > i'z be chillen at yo belt
BlueMajere > 6-3
Noob1 > corpie is actually killing theh rats on aunenen 1 belt 1
BlueMajere > where you at
BlueMajere > we gona do the bait there?
Noob1 > sure
BlueMajere > kk
Noob1 > ^^
BlueMajere > o hey its a partay!
Noob1 > lol yep

Noob2> hey, we the corpies of mia. we gots her protected ^_^
BlueMajere > aight man, we're bored as fuck waiting for war targets
BlueMajere > o7 best of luck
Noob2> oh i totally get ya. thanks btw. we wont bother you
BlueMajere > np man, we just need something to do
Noob2> same here heh
BlueMajere > want to use her/my corpie and bait some pirates?
BlueMajere > cause we NEED something to do
Noob2> oh totally, we using her as bait. if we get a pirate we have no probs sharing
BlueMajere > what?
BlueMajere > so you want to try and bait her? and kill some pirates?
Noob2> thats the idea
BlueMajere > with us?
BlueMajere > i wouldn't mind sharing the loot
BlueMajere > as long as something explodes
Noob2> lol, same here, if a pirate jumps in on her ill be sure to tell you to share the pew pew
BlueMajere > no i mean we could say something in local to get a pirate to come kill her and attack her
BlueMajere > and then jam the pirate and kill him
Noob2> if you can manage to do it go for it, noone would take it from us cause they know its a trap from corpies
BlueMajere > well i was asking cause we'd need ur mining ship to look legit as a trap
Noob2> mias heading back out there now
BlueMajere > she seems like she wants to act as bait for some pirates
Noob2> its what she does best
BlueMajere > kk

I will say this, knowing exactly where your target is going to be, and exactly what ship s/he will be flying makes yarring much easier. Sadly the one additional corp mate that was her protection ran quickly from the engagement and we were unable to get a 2 for 1 kill. Needless to say though, the retriever popped very quickly under the fire of Haydies.

After his mighty victory, Haydies was unable to continue that night and was off to bed. Undaunted by our loss, Blue and I continued our adventures. We found a destroyer at a station and I opened fire and managed to get one volley off before he docked. Trying our luck once again, and blue using his masterful social skills, the following conversation resulted…

noob3> what
BlueMajere > hey i tried to repair you but you docked
BlueMajere > that idiot was chased off
noob3> ok
noob3> thanks
BlueMajere > would you like me to rep you
noob3> i can do it thanks thow
BlueMajere > oh i know but it costs money to rep in station
BlueMajere > this way it's free
BlueMajere > ill give you some stuff to sell if you want
BlueMajere > for money
noob3> ok
BlueMajere > meet me at the first planet and ill drop it in a can? i'll protect you if those idiots come around again my ship is stronger than theirs
noob3> ok thanks
BlueMajere > plus they cant find us as opposed to you being right on the station
BlueMajere > what's your armor/shields at
BlueMajere > do you need a rep?
BlueMajere > jus targetting to see your health
BlueMajere > oooh do you need some armor?
noob3> nar im good
noob3> so how do you fix me up

Blue quickly dispatched the destroyer as I was warping in. The frustration over having missed being on a second killmail was too much for me. Locking and popping this young fellas pod was necessary to maintain my sanity.

All in all a totally useless if not entertaining night!

Cheers
Cazzik

Comment Hauling in a War Zone - 02/10/09

Defi4nt, just like any low sec alliance attracts a number or war decks from Empire pussies with nothing better to do then gank haulers. I mean we are talking real hard guys here…. anyway, I won’t abuse them to much because I’m better than that. But, currently there are 3 wars going on. So when we started to run low on Fibers and POS fuel it looked like it could be real issue.

As everyone knows, if you want to buy something, now, and in bulk there is only really one place to go. But if your an Empire type, that wants to gank a hauler…. you also know where to go. So you can probably start to realise why when our CEO asked me to haul a couple of Jump freighter loads from Jita I was a little nervous.

None the less, I didn’t have a lot of choice, it wasn’t going to haul itself and the war could go on for weeks. So I loaded up some fuel and got ready to jump. Now the trip to empire is fairly standard, I do it all the time. Jump in to the midpoint, jump out and land on the cyno cunningly positioned on the Empire gate, 30 seconds and I am through.

Problem is, thats where the fun starts. My JF is so slow it’s unreal, it turns like the truck it is and warps slower than my grandmother walks up a steep hill.

Only one solution to that real… SCOUTS. So a huge thank you to Cazzik, Fearless and Typhus for the help. I wouldn’t even if I could have done it without you. It was as it turned out an easy run in to Jita, I grabed my first load and that’s where it all started to go a little wrong.

First off, I left Jita by cyno, I should have landed next to a station only for reason I suspect due to Jita’s might lag daemon I landed 1000,000 KM from the station.  I did think about warping to station but I figured I was probably safe enough, even when the red came in I wasn’t to bothered, before long I was jumping out again.

Everything did seem a bit laggy, oddly so. But, bugger it, onwards I went. I actually got all the way home without much of a hitch, but as I was about to jump out my mid point system filled with reds, and so the waiting game started.
It took a few hours, but eventually I could jump so the cyno was popped and I was off. I docked and then the lag really hit, the reds came in and took out the cyno, but it seemed to take forever as it seriously lagged out. Next think I know they are in empire, upgrading their clone.
Thankfully I was docked.

So, I wait some more. You’d be surprised, flying cap ships involves a lot of waiting. But then a red enters my next jump system and parks right on the gate, right where I wanted to cyno…. so I wait some more until I get a report he’s at station. I’m running low on time at this point. I know I will have to sleep soon. So I make the call and the cyno is fired up… just then our red friend comes back to the gate. But he doesn’t engage.

The reason for this? Well, there are a large number of neutrals in the system that turn out to be Agony Unleashed, and he’s basically scared they will pop him and/or he wants them to engage so they get the gate turrets on him and his friends I spotted lurking around in Empire will jump in and join the fun.

Anyway, my cyno is fired, and there is a red next to it. But on the up side I have a friend…. shes in Agony and in system. She tells me to go for the jump, they have my back and shore enough they warp in to the gate. Some people would say I was crazy, jumping my extremely expensive ship in to that. Who would trust a neut? Well, in this case I probably trust them more then most blues. If she says she’s got my back, I believe her. So I made it though safely, and everything after that was smooth.

I do want to say Thanks again to Agony… I owe you one. If it wasn’t for you guys I wouldn’t have gotten it all done, so its very much appreciated and I mean it when I say “Thank you” :-)

Comment A word from the CEO - 02/4/09

Fuckye!  Ok, technically two words, but my point stands.  Say thank you to Haydies for our shiny new site, and thank you to defi4nt for welcoming us with open arms into there space.  I’m currently incredibly busy with things in game, got a million and one things to setup and arrange, but I am always available for a chat or to answer a question on evemail.  Dont feel like your in some monolithic corp who will put you in a corner and only notice you when we need a hulk pilot, me and the Directors are always available to help you with anything you need, and we have training programs and managers for just about everything.

I’m doing my thing and making friends with all the strange and wonderfull people out here, already I have wangled an office out of TCF and docking rights for the alliance from 2 of the corps who run outposts in deklein.  And I dont plan to stop there, we can never have enough friends.

Fly safe,

Jack Tau.

2 Comments 02.03.2009 Battle A Noobs Perspective - 02/4/09

Well, this morning was like any other morning. I woke up, started some coffee brewing, scratched my balls and chain smoke several cigarettes. With that accomplished, I decided to jump onto eve and see what was on the menu of activities for today.

Turns out, I was ill prepared for the events. Mostly Harmless had put out a call to all friends that they would like out participation in a last minute POS bashing. I, being a courageous and daring pilot decided I would X up and join the fun (I truly was expecting the normal pew pew at the shields, reload, pew pew, afk till next reload). Upon joining the fleet, it struck me that there was indeed something off.

You see, it was rather larger then I was expecting. 150 members were fleeted when I joined, and it was climbing. Using my savvy detection skills, I was able to deduce that the fleet I had joined was one of TWO fleets that had formed for this little event. Estimates had the total in the area of 250 members. This gave me cause for a brief pause, after scratching my balls some more, it seems the powers that be were expecting trouble.

Our fleet was spread over several systems and efforts were being made by the Fleet Commanders to gather our forces. Once gathered we made our way to the target system. As a member of the Battleship Support Fleet, I and many others setup our defences. I was eagerly awaiting the arrival  of the “Resistance” we were expecting, but as the moments passed, and first one then the other POS went up in a ball of flame, no sign of the enemy ever appeared (though one lonely rifter pilot ,I’m sure regretting his chosen course, did manage to find his way into a rather tough spot).

Defensive Positions

Defensive Positions

As the POS pew pew was winding down, our scouts started reporting some hostile activity only 2 jumps away. As the reds or White Noise if you prefer (one red looks like another to me) fleet grew larger and larger, the scout intel began to flow at a fevered pace. Reports of 20 then 30, then 60 eventually topping out somewhere about 70. At this point, most if not all of the caps were safely off the battlefield, and the support fleet was moving to the neighbouring system to the White Noise gaggle. Ready to pounce we gathered at the gate, causing at least a new fender benders and some scratched pain in this little traffic jam.

Traffic Jam;

traffic-jam

traffic-jam2

The order to jump was given, and what awaited us on the other side caused me to ignore my balls completely and focus at the task at hand. Orders were given, primary and secondary targets identified and all at once our fleet dropped the gate jump cloak and opened fire! From a noobs perspective, it was thrilling to say the least. Primary after primary blown into a spectacular crimson mist by volley after volley of relentless fire.  The enemy fleet was very quickly being decimated as red pod after red pod was either destroyed or warped off.  After some, the White Noise gaggle broke off the engagement and began to flee. We killed as many of the fleeing villains as we could but many escaped. None the less, it was a clear and decisive victory.
At this point I feel it necessary to point out that this would have been a great time to get many pretty pictures. However, with the raging battle, and having to force myself to leave my balls alone, I was unable to capture any images of the battle itself.

With the enemy withdrawn and the battle over, the fleet proceeded to the final OP destination to do battle with a third POS. I had regained my senses at this point ad was able to capture these dramatic scenes of the pew pew reload attack on the POS.

pos-pew-pew1

pos-pew-pew1

pos-pew-pew2

pos-pew-pew3

pos-pew-pew3

With the third and final POS down, we all made for home. One by one, alliances split off to go our separate ways. One pilot in our fleet was waylaid by an uninvolved and clearly uninformed roaming gang. He called that he was engaged and in need of assistance. The fleet responded quickly, and some 40 pilots managed to jump through, kill one of the hostile gang and rep the lagging pilot back to tip top shape. I imagine that roaming gang may be having words with their scout as he clearly missed the MASSIVE SLOW MOVING BLOB as it rolled through the system not moments ago.

The remainder of the journey home was uneventful and remarkably peaceful.
With that I will cut off my rambling and make an appointment with a doctor to find out why my balls require so much attention.

Cheers
Cazzik
